About This Project

OpenHAB (Open Home Automation Bus) is a vendor-agnostic, open-source platform that allows you to integrate and automate devices from hundreds of manufacturers into one unified smart home system. It runs locally, prioritizes privacy, and supports complex automation rules and scripting for power users. With its modular architecture and active community, OpenHAB is one of the most mature and flexible smart home platforms available today.

Project Pitch

OpenHAB is a cornerstone project in the fight for user-owned smart homes. By bridging diverse smart devices, OpenHAB gives users full autonomy over how their homes function, without relying on cloud servers or closed ecosystems. With additional support, we aim to simplify onboarding for new users, expand Zigbee/Z-Wave integrations, and improve the mobile and voice interfaces. Funding helps us keep OpenHAB accessible, powerful, and 100% local.
